In Dayuan Natural Village, Youyujing Village, Shuishi Town, Ningyuan County, Hunan Province, there is a special artist garden, which is oriented to the left-behind children in the village, providing children with a learning and entertainment space for each other to accompany each other and grow together. The founder of this artist park is Zhou Yan, a "post-90s" who graduated from the China Academy of Art.
In 2015, Zhou Yan came to Her husband Liu Xiu's hometown of Dayuan Village and found that most of the young and middle-aged people in the village were migrant workers, leaving more than 60 empty nesters and more than 20 left-behind children. In order to help left-behind children grow up healthily, in 2016, she and Liu Xiu took out their savings and established the "Dayuanshe Culture and Art Exchange Center", which they wanted to guide children to discover the wider world through art education.
In the past five years, in addition to a few resident teachers who use evenings and weekends to give lessons to children, there are also students from colleges and universities from all over the world to teach every year, teaching children painting, dance, calligraphy and other courses, and many originally introverted children have gradually become optimistic and cheerful.
Zhou Yan said that she hopes that children will be nourished by art, realize their ideals in life, and contribute to the construction of the countryside.
