13 pre-trial procuratorial recommendations, adding a "firewall" to Danyang's "vegetable basket"

In the past few days, in the "looking back" activity of the Danyang Municipal Procuratorate's special action to ensure the fire safety of the "vegetable basket", Uncle Zhang, a merchant in a farmer's market in Danyang, told the procurator of the court.

In order to effectively put fire safety into the "vegetable basket" and let the masses have a year of peace of mind, as early as New Year's Day, the Danyang Municipal Procuratorate joined hands with the Danyang Fire Emergency Rescue Brigade to visit more than 20 farmers' markets in the jurisdiction. During the period, the fire fighting facilities, the setting of fire passages, and the fire awareness of market operators were inspected.

In view of the 17 farmers' markets found to varying degrees, the court delivered 13 pre-litigation procuratorial suggestions to the relevant competent departments in accordance with the law, such as indoor fire hydrants that did not meet the standards, fire extinguishers were not arranged in groups, lack of fire evacuation instructions and emergency lights, and some safety exits were blocked. In the recommendation, the prosecution urged all parties to perform fire safety duties in accordance with the law.

After receiving the procuratorial suggestions, the competent department immediately updated and registered the fire fighting facilities of the farmers' market in the jurisdiction, and assigned commissioners to carry out daily inspection and maintenance. At present, the fire safety hazards of 17 farmers' markets have been rectified in place.

According to the prosecutor, in the next step, the Danyang Municipal Procuratorate will work with the competent departments to regularly organize market leaders and merchants to carry out fire safety education and training and fire drills to effectively enhance the fire safety awareness of market operators.
