On December 30, 2021, Tucson Future successfully completed the world's first unmanned heavy truck on the public road fully unmanned test, without security personnel and any human intervention. The fully unmanned test departed from a railroad port near Tucson City, Arizona, and the driverless truck traveled more than 80 miles at night to reach a large logistics distribution center near Phoenix. The entire process lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes, and Tucson's future driverless truck demonstrated its powerful processing capabilities when dealing with complex road conditions such as cities and highways, including traffic lights, up and down ramps, emergency lane vehicles and lane changes.
It is understood that Tucson's future fully unmanned trial operation project lasted more than one and a half years of development and accumulation, and is committed to developing an unmanned driving system that meets the requirements of L4 level, and ensuring its redundancy, reliability and stability can achieve fully unmanned safe operation on the open road.
