Bullets are one of the bullets that individual soldiers must carry in wartime, and are used to effectively kill and injure the enemy to protect themselves. But, you know what? There is a bluff bullet in the army's ammunition depot, which cannot be effectively killed, but it is an indispensable bullet in the modern military camp, and its name is called the empty package bullet.

Why is it called "empty package bomb" If you want to understand the origin of the name of the empty package bullet, you must first understand the difference between it and ordinary bullets: the first difference, the gunpowder charge in the empty package bullet is less than the real bullet load; the second difference, the empty package bullet has no warhead in front, usually using wood, plastic and other materials to make warheads. These two differences also constitute the most essential difference between it and ordinary bullets - empty bullets have no or only slight lethality.

Therefore, understanding the difference between them, we also understand why it is called "empty package bomb". They are a bullet consisting of a shell casing, a small amount of charge, and a primer with no or only minor lethality.

What is the use of empty package bullets Since the lethality of empty package bullets is so small, why is it still stocked in the army's ammunition depot?

This is because the combat training of modern troops tends to be actual combat, the battlefield environment is very realistic, and the confrontation is also real. This raises a question: if real bullets are used in individual confrontations, casualties will be caused, which is not allowed in exercise training. Therefore, the use and value of empty package bombs have emerged. It can simulate the sound, light, smoke and flame effects of gun live ammunition shooting, and meet the functions of continuous shooting of firearms, and the effect of officers and soldiers hitting empty package bullets and real bullets is the same. If the army has no battle to fight, it must engage in training troops, and in this sense, empty bullets are indispensable ammunition in the army.

What are the classifications of empty packs? From the perspective of structural classification, empty package bombs are divided into two categories: headless empty package bullets and headless empty package bullets. The head empty package bullet is also called the full-shaped empty package bullet, which is exactly the same as the shape of the real bullet. However, its warhead is made of wood, compressed paper and synthetic plastic, and it is generally broken after it is discharged. The headless empty package bomb is also called "mouth empty package bullet", they are the propellant into the shell, and then the mouth is sealed, the sealing method is to add a cap or fold the front end of the mouth into a star-shaped cone, and then coated with sealing paint.

From the perspective of use classification, empty package ammunition is divided into two categories: military and civilian. Military air-wrapped ammunition is specially designed and manufactured according to the exercise and training situation, while civilian air-wrapped ammunition has lower requirements, its size and size are not strictly required, but a high degree of safety must be emphasized. At the same time, there is a hard requirement, that is, they cannot be modified, if they can be modified into real ammunition and fall into the hands of criminals, then the hidden danger is great. Civilian empty shells are mainly used for film and television shooting, firing salutes and other purposes.

The fragments of empty package bombs will hurt people Empty package bullets are mainly used in ordinary exercise training to simulate real bullets. In general, it is not lethal. However, this cannot be said absolutely. Some of the mouth-closing empty package bullets may produce metal fragments after firing, and some of the warheads of the full-shaped empty package bullets are hard materials, and they are still destructive at close range. Usually, no matter what kind of empty package, at a distance of 5 to 10 meters from the muzzle, some broken materials will feel obvious pain on the body, and some wounds will also appear swollen.

Of course, there are certain limitations in the design of empty package bombs. Because it leaks gas after ignition, the automatic rifle re-entry system lacks enough gas to push the next bullet into the chamber. Therefore, in order to continue shooting, it is generally necessary to add an empty package bomb booster to the gun, so that the empty package bullet can achieve automatic shooting.
