On January 19, 2022, Japanese automaker Toyota released its latest report on nucleic acid testing for covid-19 in factories. It is understood that in the nucleic acid test on January 18, a total of 8 front-line workers were positive, and by January 19, the nucleic acid test results showed that 6 more workers were positive. In order to prevent the spread of the virus, the plant decided to suspend production for four days from January 19 to January 22, and further health checks will be carried out on employees at all locations.

Toyota's Aichi Prefecture Toyota City Taikaidi plant, which mainly produces Camry and Corolla models, may reduce production by about 1,500 units, which is undoubtedly worse than the annual production target of 9 million vehicles that was already difficult to achieve.

Judging from toyota's February production plan announced, the plant will stop production for at least two days in February, and now in such a situation, I am afraid that it will be difficult to continue production this month, unless within 4 days of the temporary shutdown, in the absence of a positive nucleic acid test result, the temporary shutdown time will be extended until it is confirmed that the factory is safe enough to ensure the health of workers.

On January 18, Toyota announced its production plans for the Japanese plants in February, and eight Japanese plants will temporarily suspend production for a period of 2-13 days, affecting the production of all its models. As a result, Toyota is pessimistic about its annual production target of 9 million units.
