The Yangtze 31, a ballistic missile submarine commanded by Captain Zhao, was trapped in shallow commonwealth coastal areas south of Boston Airport and northeast of the Four-Leaf Fish Packaging Plant. The Yangtze River 31 carried 6 ballistic missiles, several short-range missiles, and 4 torpedo tubes, but no torpedo chamber was found. Three large-diameter propellers arranged in an inverted triangle tilt are in the middle of the hull, with the propellers below behind the nuclear reactor control chamber. All equipment is located in front of the enclosure, with a slender structure at the back and a small propeller on the rudder. The boat was ordered to fire ballistic missiles at the United States, 5 successfully hit the target, and the last one was unsuccessful. The damage caused a nuclear leak, killing or mutating 23 crew members into ghouls, and Captain Zhao also transformed into ghouls, but was able to maintain himself. He then used the periscope/sensor mast to reach out to the surface of the water to observe the situation on the shore.
Special items such as Chinese officers' swords, sailor clothes and hats, stealth boys, and nuclear warheads can be found in submarines. On the bed in the infirmary was the skeleton of a handcuffed U.S. soldier, probably held captive before running aground.

Players play as Americans, can choose to help Captain Zhao, can also kill him, can get his sword, the same appearance as the Chinese officer's sword. To help him, you need to dismantle one of the remaining nuclear warheads, find a damping coil on the shore, and use the warhead's nuclear fuel to restart the reactor and restore power so that Captain Zhao can go home. If the reactor is restarted without a damping coil installed, the nuclear fuel will overheat and cause the reactor to explode.
