On January 18, Sun Lijun, chairman of Alibaba Charity Foundation, said at the "Follow-up Work Seminar of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation" that Alibaba Charity and African friends jointly realized that to promote the development of African rural areas, in addition to environmental protection, e-commerce sales and other measures, it is more important to help locals, especially young people, get more opportunities and space through industry, education and technology.

Sun Lijun introduced in his speech that under the guidance of China's "rural revitalization" strategy, Ali has sent rural commissioners, professional designers and "rural technicians" to underdeveloped counties since 2019 to "send in" talents and explore a new model of the Internet to help rural areas from the three aspects of industry, talent and science and technology. Now, Ali designers help the county design agricultural product brands for free in the local area, and the "rural technocrats" are also trying digital breeding in the countryside, tracing the source through the blockchain, so that urban consumers can consume with confidence and broaden sales channels.

In Sun Lijun's view, "sending talents in" is the first step, and more importantly, the development of rural industries requires the use of industries to attract more young people to "stay", return to their hometowns for employment and go home to start a business. In Pu'an, Guizhou, Ujin chicken is a local specialty, but it can only be sold locally for a long time, and the sales are not smooth. Now, through Ali's many trainings, many "rural anchors" have begun to sell Ujin chicken through e-commerce live broadcasting. At the same time, Luo Yingping, Ali Rural Commissioner, also introduced breeding farms and breeding bases in the local area, docked with slaughterhouses and packaging factories in Guiyang, and sold Ujin chicken to commercial supermarket platforms such as Hema and RT-Mart, so that Ujin chickens could go out of the mountains.

In addition, in 2020, Alibaba also built an AI labeling base in Pingshun County, Shanxi Province, allowing the countryside to build a bridge with the leading artificial intelligence industry, and recruited more than 100 AI labelers in the local area, not only to take care of the family, but also to buy a house in the county, attracting more than half of the employees to return home from other places for employment. According to statistics, Alibaba has built a total of 37 customer service centers, 4 "wig factories" and 10 "AI labeling bases" in many places, creating 11,000 jobs.
At the same time, Sun Lijun mentioned in his speech that rural basic education is the focus of Ali's public welfare to help rural talents revitalize. The Alibaba Foundation, jack Ma Foundation, Tsai Chongxin Foundation and other public welfare organizations have cooperated to help rural basic education through various means such as providing funding and training, as well as building playgrounds and music classrooms, so that more than 100,000 rural teachers and students have benefited from it.
