Nur-Sultan, 19 Jan (Xinhua) -- The state of emergency was officially lifted at 00:00 on 19 January, the lives of the residents returned to normal, and all the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSCE) have been withdrawn from Kazakhstan.

According to the presidential decree signed by Kazakh President Tokayev on January 5, the state of emergency was officially lifted from 00:00 on the 19th, ending all restrictive measures taken to ensure social order during the state of emergency.

According to local media reports, the city of Almaty, Jambul Oblast and other areas that were greatly affected by the riots maintained the "red" warning level for terrorist threats after the state of emergency was lifted, and police, National Guard and armed forces personnel continued to carry out patrol and law enforcement tasks around the clock.

The report also quoted the Kazakh Ministry of Defense as saying that the last batch of CISO peacekeeping troops took off from Almaty airport on the 19th and left Kazakhstan, so that the withdrawal of CIAN peacekeeping troops from Kazakhstan has officially ended, and there are no foreign troops in Kazakhstan.

According to the website of the first president of Kazakhstan, Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev delivered his first video speech since the riots in the capital Nur-Sultan on the 18th. He said organized riots and attacks attempted to undermine the sovereignty, foundations and integrity of the country, relying on the decisive decisions of President Tokayev, whose foundations were protected.

Nazarbayev stressed that in 2019 he handed over the presidency to Tokayev, and since then he has retired. Tokayev is the chairman of the Security Council, and the Kazakh people should support Tokayev's reform proposal to improve the well-being of the people. Kazakhstan will be able to weather this crisis and become stronger.

At the beginning of the new year, the price of liquefied gas rose sharply in many places in the Mangistau oblast in southwest Kazakhstan, triggering people in some cities in Kazakhstan to rally and protest. Kazakh President Tokaev accepted the resignation of the government on the 5th, presided over a meeting on the social and economic situation, and decided to take a number of price stabilization measures. Tokayev also signed a presidential decree on the same day, declaring a state of emergency nationwide from 00:00 on January 5 to 19. However, riots continued in some areas, and in many places rioters stormed government institutions and attacked the police. Subsequently, CSOS sent peacekeeping troops to Kazakhstan at Tokayev's request. On the 12th, the new Government of Kazakhstan took the oath of office and said that it would take the restoration of the economy and the improvement of the quality of life of residents as the main task.
