The reference news network reported on January 20 that German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a disagreement at a press conference on Tuesday about the topic of the German channel of Russian TELEVISION Today (RT) at a news conference, according to the German news agency Moscow reported on January 18.

After the two foreign ministers met in Moscow, Lavrov called on the German government to allow Russian Television Today to operate unhindered.

At a press conference, a representative of Russian television complained at a press conference that it was more difficult to work in Germany than in any other country, and called on Lavrov to support the station.

According to reports, in mid-December last year, Russian TV Today launched a German live channel on multiple channels. Berlin's media regulator then filed a lawsuit against the station. As a result, Eurotelsat discontinued the German-language channel of Russian Television Today shortly before Christmas. German regulators have yet to formally issue broadcasting licenses to the channel.

Lavrov warned the German foreign minister that "the activities of independent journalists have been interfered with" and said that obstructing the operation of Russian television stations today will have consequences.

Lavrov said: "We think it is important that Russian journalists feel at ease and not discriminated against. ”

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly warned that the ban will affect the operation of German media in Russia.

According to the report, Belberg refuted the claims of the representative of Russia Today that the station's employees in Germany were obstructed or discriminated against. She said the station's staff could attend important press conferences and also reported on demonstrations and other activities.

Russian Television Today has been repeatedly criticized by the West as a propaganda tool for the Kremlin. Russia Today television denied the allegations.
