The German has once again bemoaned the tight schedule at his club and is now planning to give his players a two-day break ahead of Sunday's home game against Tottenham Hotspur.

When asked to explain the recent poor league conditions, Tuchel replied: "I've answered this question a hundred times and if you look at our long-term injuries, key player injuries and COVID-19, you look at our schedule and you'll have the answer.

"We're mentally tired, we're physically tired, and you can tell from our performance that it's that simple. We need to charge the battery, we need to reconnect.

'That's how I feel, that's why I give the players two days off and then we're going to use Friday and Saturday to prepare for Sunday.'
