The first woman that Concubine Ling defeated was Yi Concubine Baishi.
Yi Concubine Bai was probably the qianlong emperor's earliest favorite woman, she entered the court in the early years of Qianlong and was favored by the Qianlong Emperor, who had just ascended to the throne. Regarding the origin of Yi Concubine, there are not many records in the historical records, but through some recitals during the Qianlong period and the records of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was found that Bai Shi was a Han woman of nationality born in Jiangnan, and it is likely that it was the product of Jiangnan officials' contributions to the imperial court.
In the sixth year of Qianlong, the Qianlong Emperor directly granted the title of concubine, and in the second year (the seventh year of Qianlong), the Qianlong Emperor transferred his family to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and set up the Yellow Banner to lead the collar, which shows that the favor of the Bai clan at that time reached an incomparable degree, so that the Empress Chongqing had to hold a draft to elect Yehenara, the great-granddaughter of the Kangxi Dynasty minister Nalan Mingzhu, into the harem.
