Yang Xuan, born in Qishan, Shaanxi, is currently living in Xi'an, studying in the Xiling Seal Society Ju Zhi Confucian Seal Engraving Advanced Seminar. He studied under Mr. Dong Yang and Mr. Ju Zhiru. He is currently a member of the Shaanxi Calligraphers Association and a director of the Lishan Printing Society. His works have been published in publications such as Seal Carving, Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Carving, and Xi'an Daily, and his works have won awards in national exhibition competitions for many times.

He can always tell you what's going on in a few short words, which makes the listener feel open. Yang Xuan is first of all a diligent person, and then a person with a heart, in the Xi'an Museum of Chinese Calligraphy and Art, when he first brought a batch of seals he carved for me to see, I was surprised, that beautiful and handsome, strong and relaxed, simple and elegant printing style suddenly attracted me, listening to his introduction: "This part is a jade seal, these are agate seals, these are brass seals..." When I was even more surprised! The golden stone is speechless, and the exquisite seal engraving works illustrate everything... I asked Yang Xuan when he had ruled the seal and why did he have a fondness for the jade seal? Yang Xuan said that he had learned about seal carving since he was a child, and he had heard his grandfather say that his ancestors had made a living by ruling seals, and had also specially ruled seals for the government... Only in his grandfather's generation there were no more clans engaged in this craft, and when he was a child, he also saw rusty carving knives in the family, one of which was also equipped with a wooden handle more than a foot long, which he often played with as a toy, but was later sold by his family as scrap iron. Or the reason for the bloodline, Yang Xuan has been concerned about seals since he was a child, likes seal carvings, and has been working hard for this, learning Han seals, writing Qin seals... Even during his time in the army, he never stopped, because of this specialty, he was also repeatedly commended in the literary and artistic work of the army, and even after transferring from the army to the local area, he became more focused on the art of seal engraving. After Yang Xuan engaged in seal carving, he specifically studied the carving knife with a wooden handle, which should be a tool used by the ancestors to attack hard materials such as jade.

Seal carving is a person's cultivation, people often say "book for the heart painting", seal engraving is also applicable, the seal is the exposure of the seal engraver's heart, frank and idyllic, simple nature is the biggest feature of Yang Xuan's seal carving, but also the external embodiment of his personality, every time Yang Xuan prints or seal book works, but see a variety of forms, or printing screens, or fans, or couplets... No matter what form, it is high and ancient, interesting, sometimes quiet like a virgin, sometimes moving like a rabbit; sometimes babbling water, sometimes stormy; quiet can smell the fragrance of orchids, moving when seeing dragons and phoenixes are auspicious...
