According to the official introduction, Google Play Games is a PC application that allows you to browse, download and play some mobile games on a Windows desktop or laptop computer. In addition to playing your favorite Android games on your PC, you can use your keyboard and mouse, sync seamlessly between devices, and integrate with Google Play Points. Google Play games are not currently available for Mac.

Android games will be available in a standalone app called Google Play Games, which will include popular mobile games, including Mobile Legends, Summoners War, State of Survival, Three Kingdoms Tactics, and more.

Google's self-developed launcher will allow players to browse, download and play Android games on their computers, supporting seamless cross-platform integration, and the official introduction said that only one login to Google Account can synchronize game progress and game library between different devices. Start playing on your phone, switch to playing on your PC, and then continue on your phone.

On top of that, Google says mobile games played through the Google Play app will support mouse and keyboard input and be optimized for large screens.

For Google Play to be successful on PC, developers need to make sure their games are compatible with larger screens and that mouse/keyboard input functions properly. The aspect ratio of the app is not compatible with the aspect ratio of the screen, which has been a problem for several years running the app on larger Android tablets, and until now Google has taken some steps to do about it by launching the Android 12L, the large-screen version of the company's mobile operating system.

Google has released more detailed instructions to help developers optimize their existing applications for compatibility with Windows PCs.

If you're in South Korea, Taiwan, or Hong Kong and want to try out the beta version, you can go to the official website, press the "Join Waiting List" button, and enter the queue to access Google Play Games.

IT House understands that Google has not disclosed when it will launch the Google Play Games app for PC to the public, but the app will be available sometime in 2022. Previously, emulators such as BlueStacks allowed users to play Android games on a Windows PC through a browser.
