Visit the Baiyun Mountain Imperial Library Yu Shisong and his wife's joint burial tomb

author:Yu surname of the sky

When sorting out Yu's historical documents, I learned that there was a yushi joint burial tomb in the Daoguang years of the Qing Dynasty on Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, the name of the tomb was "Yu Shisong and his wife's tomb", which was registered as an ungraded cultural relics in the "Questionnaire on Immovable Cultural Relics in the Pearl River Delta Greenway Area", and as a historical record of the Han army flag Yu's clan in Guangdong, the tomb is of great significance.

On January 18, 2022, I visited this Qing Dynasty tomb with Yu Huiyong's relatives in Guangzhou. Yu Shisong and his wife joint burial tomb is located in the national AAAAA level scenic spot Baiyun Mountain, the specific location is near the Yushu Pavilion, the area has not yet been developed for tourism, only one sidewalk is feasible, we pick up the steps along the sidewalk, because it is winter, the sidewalk is full of fallen leaves.

Since there was no clear signage, we planned to look for one tomb after another, and the first time we saw a narrow staircase on the right side of the road leading to a large tomb, we went down to explore, fortunately, this tomb is the joint tomb of Yu Shisong and his wife. The tomb is large, elegant and grand, located at the top of the hillside, typical of the hope, two mighty stone lions guard the cemetery. The tomb is a circular tomb, starting from the worship platform and ascending the steps, which means step by step, the meaning of transporting the descendants.

Due to the small number of people coming, the fallen leaves cover the entire cemetery, and it can be seen from the newly engraved "Tombstone of GongShisong and His Wife" on the cemetery that the tomb was rebuilt by its descendants in November 2019, and the overall structure looks very complete.

Rebuilt in the tombstone of Mr. and Mrs. Gongshi Song:

"Yu Shisong, born in 1780, finally during the Daoguang period (the specific year is unknown), his ancestral home was Shenyang, Liaoning, after the success of the Eight Banners of the Qing and Han Armies. In 1683, Yu Chenggong traveled south from Beijing to defend Guangzhou.

After Yu Shisong's death, he was buried with the Long's wife in the Baiyun Mountain Imperial Library. The tomb was rebuilt in 1838 by Wen Hao, Wen Qing, Wen Run, Wen Yuan, Wen Tao, Sun Minshan, Min Xiang, Min Xi, great-grandson Zhenwei, Zhen Wu, etc. It has not been repaired again, and the cemetery is desolate and dilapidated. Now that the society is stable and prosperous, our clan has once again repaired it, with the honor of Zude and the stone as a record.

From the inscription on the right side of the cemetery, it can be seen that this repair was funded by the descendants of Toshiki.

Male: Wen Hao, Wen Qing, Wen Run, Wen Yuan, Wen Tao, Sun Minshan, Min Zhi, Min Ren, Min Xi, Min Xiang, great-grandson Zhen Wei, Zhen Wu Lishi. ”

Tomb Link: "Yunfeng Yu Xiu Mian Xianxu, Shuge Zhong Lingyu Houtu", Yunfeng is Baiyun Mountain, and Shuge is Yushuge (that is, the name of the burial place).

From the inscription on the tombstone, it can be seen that Yu Shisong should have been buried here first, and rebuilt when Daoguang died in December 1838.

There is also an inscription on the right side of the tomb: "Xianfei is on the throne of the Mother Wan clan, The eleventh year of Guangxu Mengdong Jidan, son, grandson, Zeng, Xuan Tongli." ”

The area around the cemetery is very messy, we went down to the slope in front of the cemetery to carefully inspect, yu Shisong cemetery below seems to be the liang family cemetery, most of which have collapsed and destroyed, and there are several tombs within the land boundary after the house, although they have been buried by the soil, but after a simple cleaning, it can still be identified as: Wenqing and Huang's joint burial tomb (Xianfeng 9th year), Minren and Wang's joint burial tomb (Guangxu Jia Noon), Yu Mu Zhu Tairu people's tomb (Guangxu Jia Noon Year)....

From the outside, these tombs look intact and should not have been destroyed, but the surrounding and front of the tomb are overgrown with weeds and dwarf shrubs, and it is expected that the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area will be further protected and repaired when the baiyun mountain scenic area is renovated in the future.
