In the middle of winter, the moss planting greenhouses in Maoyuan Township, Jingning She Autonomous County, Zhejiang Province, are yellow-green, and the villagers are pulling grass, watering and shaping, and are busy with the upcoming Spring Festival sales season.
Based on ecological advantages and alpine wetland resources, Maoyuan Township tried to develop moss planting in 2019, and saw great benefits in two or three years: the township has built a valuable moss seed factory cultivation base, a moss symbiosis base, a smart moss seedling base and a moss cultural and creative products display center, forming a moss industrial chain integrating moss planting, cultural and creative products, homestay complexes, and greening project construction, with an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan.

Lei Xiaohua, secretary of the Party Committee of Maoyuan Township, introduced that the processing team of moss cultural and creative products and the construction team of moss greening project set up in the township provided more than 150 jobs, driving more than 100 villagers to increase their income by an average of 13,000 yuan per year. In 2021, the total collective income of Maoyuan Rural Reached 2.63 million yuan, an increase of 44.3% year-on-year, and the operating income was 1.23 million yuan, an increase of 23.6% year-on-year.
Jingning is located in the mountainous area of southwest Zhejiang, and there are 779 peaks above 1,000 meters above sea level in the county alone, making it one of the 26 counties in Zhejiang Province that have accelerated development. In 2021, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural permanent residents in Jingning exceeded 45,000 yuan and 23,000 yuan respectively, and the average annual growth rate in the past five years reached 8.1% and 9.6% respectively.

The reporter learned from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Zhejiang Province that in 2021, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Zhejiang will exceed 35,000 yuan, and the growth rate will be 1.1 percentage points higher than the per capita disposable income of urban residents; the income of low-income farmers will increase by 14.8% year-on-year, more than 4 percentage points higher than the growth rate of rural residents' income; and Zhejiang Province has eliminated the phenomenon of the annual per capita income of rural households below 9,000 yuan.
Wang Tonglin, director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Zhejiang Province, said that in 2021, the growth rate of farmers' income in Zhejiang Province will maintain a "three faster than" trend, one is that the growth rate of farmers' income is faster than that of urban residents, the second is that the growth rate of farmers' income in 26 counties that has accelerated development is faster than that of farmers in the province, and the third is that the income of low-income farmers is faster than that of farmers in the province, indicating that Zhejiang has taken a more solid step in the construction of a common prosperity demonstration zone for high-quality development.
The reporter learned that in the process of high-quality development and construction of a common prosperity demonstration zone, Zhejiang Province has focused on narrowing the development gap between urban and rural areas and between regions. Among them, in terms of increasing farmers' income, a series of measures have achieved sustained results.
At the incoming material processing base in Dalin Village, Donghe Township, Zhuji City, the socks to be processed are neatly stacked, and more than a dozen workers are busy with the work in hand. Most of them are nearby farmers, who take goods from Datang Town, Zhuji City, the "hometown of China's sock industry", and package socks according to the requirements of manufacturers. Such positions are simple to operate and flexible, and farmers have a stable supply and income.
Zhuji is an important private economic town in Zhejiang, there are currently 15 domestic and foreign listed enterprises, some local township industries are highly concentrated and developed, there are "China's pearl town" and "China's socks industry town" and other titles, forming a national and even global market influence. In order to promote the income of more than 13,000 low-income farmers, Zhuji has strengthened the driving force of the industrial belt, and effectively encouraged low-income farmers with working ability to increase their employment income by carrying out employment skills training, supporting industrial poverty alleviation bases, and introducing loan discount policies.
In addition, in recent years, Zhuji has vigorously promoted the "activation of idle farmhouses" action, so that farmhouses can be integrated and developed with manufacturing and cultural tourism industries, and market value can be realized. By the end of 2021, Zhuji city has activated a total of 2,956 idle farmhouses, with a construction area of 995,000 square meters, absorbing more than 1.88 billion yuan of social capital, increasing the income of farmers by more than 162 million yuan, and increasing the collective income of villages by 83.73 million yuan.
The reporter learned that at present, in Zhuji, there are 353 villages with operating income of more than 500,000 yuan, accounting for 76.7% of the total number of villages.

Expanding the size of middle-income groups and increasing the income of low-income groups is the landmark task of Zhejiang Province's high-quality development and construction of a common prosperity demonstration zone. The reporter learned that this year, Zhejiang Province will focus on two types of high-quality farmers and low-income farmers, do a good job in the six major actions of industry, construction, reform, empowerment, support, and digital promotion of common prosperity, pay close attention to the agricultural "double strong" (science and technology strong agriculture, mechanical strong agriculture) action, build future villages, promote the integrated reform of the rural collective economic system, deepen the "two inputs and two returns" (science and technology, funds into the countryside, youth, rural sages back to the countryside) action, build a new type of help community, iterate the "rural brain" six breakthrough measures.
