Let the Voice of Yan'an Fly Over the Long Sky ▸▸ A Century of Literature and Art: The Beauty of Faith (No. 87)

On December 30, 1940, on the hillside of the xiaohe River in Wangpiwan Village, northwest of Yan'an, the radio waves from the three-story three-row cave dwellings flew over the long sky - the first radio station created by the Communist Party of China, the Yan'an Xinhua Radio Station, began broadcasting, which marked the beginning of the Chinese people's broadcasting career and was of great significance.

In June 1948, when the civil war broke out in full swing, in order to make the voice of the Liberated Areas spread to the Kuomintang-ruled areas in a timely manner, the Party Central Committee decided to reorganize the Xinhua News Agency and expand it into a language broadcasting department on the basis of the original oral broadcasting group.

Wen Jize was appointed director of the Language And Broadcasting Department, mainly responsible for the editorial work of Yan'an Radio Station. During this period, he presided over the formulation of the "Interim Work Rules for the Language and Broadcasting Department of the Xinhua Headquarters", which was the first rules and regulations on propaganda work in the history of people's broadcasting, marking the road of standardization of yan'an radio propaganda. Xinhua Radio was later renamed the Central People's Radio.

Wen Jize is a news broadcast activist and journalism educator of the Communist Party of China. On July 17, 1932, under the influence of left-leaning adventurism, the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China convened a semi-public rally on the Shanghai Communist Stage to plan the establishment of the National Anti-Imperialist League. Wen Jize, who was then the secretary of the Communist Youth League branch at Fudan University, was arrested in the incident. He studied hard in prison for 5 years and was released from prison in 1937.

Wen Jize went to Yan'an in 1938 and successively served as a teacher at Shaanxi Northern Public School (teaching philosophy, introduction to social sciences and introduction to natural sciences), an officer of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, a philosophical researcher at the Academia Sinica, an editor and editor-in-chief of the deputy magazine of Jiefang Daily, an organ of the CPC Central Committee, and a director and social councilor of the Oral Broadcasting Department of Xinhua News Agency (editorial department of Yan'an Xinhua Radio Station).

In May 1942, he was invited to participate in the Yan'an Literary and Art Symposium. On the night and night of the three-year Liberation War, Wen Jize led all the editors and broadcasters, under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, to overcome many difficulties together with the Xinhua News Agency Headquarters, to hold on to Yan'an, to fight in northern Shaanxi, to go south to Taihang, and to move into Beiping. Under extremely difficult conditions, we should persist in doing a good job in the broadcast and propaganda work of Yan'an (Northern Shaanxi) Station. The radio propaganda in the Liberated Areas had a wide impact on the Kuomintang Area, and also effectively cooperated with the victorious process of the Liberation War, and was praised by the audience of the Kuomintang District as "a beacon in the vast darkness of the night."

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wen Jize taught news broadcasting courses in the journalism class of the Cpc Central Committee's Senior Party School and the journalism major of the department of Chinese of Peking University. In December 1980, he spoke at the symposium on the 40th anniversary of people's broadcasting, proposing to change the anniversary of the birth of Chinese people's broadcasting. With the approval of the relevant leading departments, from 1980 onwards, the anniversary of the founding of Chinese minist radio was changed from September 5, 1945 to December 30, 1940, which was the first broadcast day of Yan'an Xinhua Radio.
