More than half of New Yorkers believe the United States is going in the wrong direction

According to the New York Post, the latest poll once again sounded the alarm for US President Biden. Surveys show that in the Democratic-leaning state of New York, more voters believe the U.S. is getting worse due to fatigue and inflation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of particular note is the divisions within the registered Democrats themselves. Of the Democratic respondents in New York, only 46 percent believe the U.S. is moving in the right direction under Biden, and 44 percent say the situation in the U.S. is deteriorating.

In addition, nearly three-quarters of Republicans and 69 percent of nonpartisan voters say the United States is on the wrong path. In the suburbs of New York and the upstate state, about two-thirds say the United States is going in the wrong direction.

The New York Post commented that "people from all regions, races and income levels are complaining." People of all races and income levels lack confidence in the status quo in the United States. "Voter negativity could affect turnout in the U.S. midterm elections this fall."

The survey surveyed 806 registered voters from Jan. 9 to 13 with a margin of error of about plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Shortly before that, a poll released by the University of Quinnipiac in the United States showed that the support rate of US President Biden continued to fall to 33%, a new low. Biden's approval rating among Democrats fell from 87 percent in November 2021 to 75 percent recently. The US media pointed out that this shows that the American people are deeply dissatisfied with the way their government has handled the issue of rising inflation and the spread of the new crown epidemic.
