Who is Abbas Kiaros Dami?
Fat friends who like to watch movies must be no strangers.
Jean-Luc Godard spoke highly of "the film begins with Griffiths and ends with Abbas". Akira Kurosawa called Abbas's films "unparalleled", and Abbas's "fans" include famous directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Emile Kusturica.
Abbas is the pioneer of Iranian New Wave cinema, and his masterpiece "Where Is My Friend's House" won the Golden Leopard Award at the Locarno International Film Festival; "The Taste of Cherries" won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival; "Gone with the Wind" won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival; and "Like Mu Love" won the Best Director Award at the Asian Film Festival.
His films are also known as "poetic films", thanks to his other identity – poet, a poet with a unique style, so unique that he has been hailed as "the most radical Iranian poet of his generation, or the most radical of that century".
In fact, his poetry writing predates much earlier in time than other artistic acts and receives widespread attention.
Abbas's poems come from the ancient Persian poetic tradition and take on the characteristics of philosophy and contemplation.
