Three weapons that have been lost in ancient China: two have disappeared from the world and one has been passed down to Japan

As we all know, in the era of cold weapons, there was no so-called bomb artillery, only to rely on the iron weapons made and the soldiers' bodies to resist. However, despite the era when the productive forces were so backward, the working people on the mainland still forged many weapons with their own wisdom. What is less well known, however, is that three very powerful weapons from that time have been lost. Which three weapons are they?

Three weapons that have been lost in ancient China: two have disappeared from the world and one has been passed down to Japan

The first weapon was the Zhuge Lian crossbow. The origin of the name Zhuge Lian crossbow is naturally related to Mr. Zhuge Liang of the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period. This weapon was made by Mr. Zhuge Liang and was also known as the Yuan Rong crossbow. This crossbow can shoot ten arrows in a row, which is full of lethality. However, because the crossbow is very bulky, it requires the cooperation of multiple soldiers to use. Therefore, on the ancient battlefield, if it is necessary to fight a long distance, it is not easy to move, so this crossbow is mainly used to defend the city.

At present, Zhuge Lian crossbow has only appeared in some historical records, and in the archaeological cause, no physical object has ever been excavated. Therefore, the mystery of what Zhuge Lian crossbow looks like and how it is made has not yet been solved.

The second weapon is the Strange Knife. According to records, the Mo Dao was made during the Tang Dynasty, it is a long-handled knife, originally intended to fight against the imposing Turkic cavalry, it is very sharp, wherever it goes, such as entering no man's land, it can greatly damage the enemy's formation. At that time, the Tang Dynasty had frequent exchanges with Japan, so the strange knife was also sent to Japan as a gift.

Later, due to the change of dynasties, the strange knife gradually disappeared into the long river of mainland history, but it gradually spread in Japan. To this day, there are still strange knives in Japan.

The third weapon is the mallet. The mallet was a heavy cavalry weapon in ancient China, similar to the red tassel gun, axe, etc. Hammers are generally made of hardwood and are divided into two parts: the handle and the hammer head. The handle is generally six feet long, the hammer head is rounded, some are equipped with a number of iron nails on the head, and some are equipped with a hammer at the end of the handle. The blade is 50-60 cm long, far longer than the length of ordinary guns and spears.

It is precisely because the mallet is relatively long, because it is generally used for cavalry charging. It appeared in the Han Dynasty and gradually developed into a major weapon, mostly used in the Wei and Jin Dynasties and the Sui and Tang Dynasties. In addition, due to the large size of the mallet, it is not suitable for ordinary infantry and light cavalry, and there are certain physical requirements for the soldiers used. Therefore, although the cold weapon is highly lethal, it cannot be copied and is not easy to move.

The above are three kinds of cold weapons that have been lost to the mainland, and these three weapons are full of lethality and have an extremely amazing slashing effect, but they have not been handed down, which is a pity. However, perhaps with the continuous development of archaeological technology on the mainland, these weapons may eventually be restored. What do you think about that?
