At 9:00 a.m. on January 18, with the order of the formation commander, two Chinese law enforcement boats participating in the 113th China-Laos-Myanmar-Thailand Mekong Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement slowly sailed away from the Jingha Pier in Xishuangbanna, kicking off the prelude to the 2022 China-Laos-Myanmar-Thailand Mekong Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement.

The joint patrol law enforcement operation is expected to last 4 days and 3 nights, with a total range of more than 600 kilometers. Prior to the operation, the law enforcement departments of the four countries held a joint meeting of commanders and an information exchange meeting in the form of video to jointly analyze and judge the recent illegal crimes and epidemic situation in the Mekong River Basin, and to consult on measures to combat cross-border crime and epidemic prevention and control. During the operation, the law enforcement boats and law enforcement team members of the four countries will strictly follow the requirements of the mekong joint patrol law enforcement epidemic prevention and control, adopt a "non-contact" approach to carry out joint operations, and continue to crack down on various illegal and criminal activities in the basin.
