Exclusive | The wife of a missing man in Tonga: after finding a husband, the most worried 12-year-old autistic son "difficult to enroll in school"!

Today (January 18) afternoon, Ms. Li, the wife of "Tonga's missing Chinese man Zhu Jianxiong", told Rice and Xiaomi that she had not had time to contact him directly after her husband ensured safety, and she was deeply relieved that the relevant state departments were actively involved in the matter.

Previously, Zhengguan News reported that the couple had an autistic child, so the husband went to Tonga alone to do business, while Ms. Li stayed alone in Guangzhou to take care of the children. Ms. Li also confirmed to Rice and Xiaomi that these details were true.

"The child's father is safe, and I am most worried about my child's schooling." Ms. Li said her autistic son is 12 years old. Previously, because of the "difficulty of enrollment", it was difficult to work hard in Guangzhou, and it has not yet landed.

"Transfer 3355 yuan, should be all the money on him"

"He hasn't been home for more than two years." Ms. Li told Rice and Xiaomi that her husband Zhu Jianxiong went to Tonga again in November 2019 and had said that he would return to China at the end of that year, but he did not expect the outbreak of the new crown epidemic to continue, and he still could not come back after two years.

Ms. Li said she and Zhu Jianxiong met in 2007. Ms. Li is an orphan, Zhu Jianxiong's parents are divorced, and two people with similar circumstances can easily come together. After marriage, Ms. Li also went to Tonga with her husband to sell Chinese goods.

In 2010, they gave birth to a son in Tonga, and four months later, the son got a Chinese passport, Ms. Li took her son back to Guangzhou first, and Zhu Jianxiong continued to stay in the local area to make money, returning to China twice a year.

Because his son was diagnosed with autism, intervention and schooling have encountered more difficulties, in order to take care of his son, from 2017 to 2019, Zhu Jianxiong returned to China for more than two years.

"The economic pressure is too great." Ms. Li said that in order for her to take care of her son wholeheartedly, her husband had to go to Tonga to make a living. But after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, Zhu Jianxiong could no longer buy goods from China, and the business had to stagnate, and he had to stay in the local area to make a living by repairing computers.

Ms. Li said that on January 15, Zhu Jianxiong transferred 3355 yuan to her on WeChat, and she speculated, "This may be all the money in his WeChat, which was transferred to me." "Usually, the husband sends living expenses to her and her son through bank remittances," and it is rarely transferred directly using WeChat. ”

During the two days when her husband was missing, Ms. Li was particularly helpless, she had lived in Tonga, knowing that the houses there were very low, with the highest being only two floors, and it was difficult to withstand the tsunami.

Ms. Li was relieved to hear that her husband was safe and sound, and she hoped to get in touch with her husband as soon as possible and let him leave Tonga and return to China quickly.

At Zhongshan Third Hospital, my son was diagnosed with autism

Ms. Li said bluntly that her son's schooling is her most anxious problem at present. The child is 12 years old and has not yet been accepted by school.

In 2016, when Ms. Li's son was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with Asperger's disease in the Department of Child Development of Zhongshan Third Hospital in Guangzhou, which belongs to the autism spectrum. Before that, she had discovered that her son might have cognitive, linguistic, and emotional problems: he couldn't say a complete sentence, always jumping word by word; he often talked to himself in English; he didn't socialize with other people, only loved to play with dinosaur toys, so the family bought him hundreds of dinosaur toys...

But Ms. Li did not take her son to the diagnosis early. She explained that her husband was far away in Tonga and only came back once a year, while she was alone to take care of the children, too busy to have the strength or courage to go to the hospital to verify the bad guesses in her heart.

It wasn't until 2016, when Ms. Li returned from a psychology study in the UK to do a sandbox experiment on her son, thinking that the child might be an Asperger's disease patient, that she and her husband really felt that it was a serious problem. To this end, Zhu Jianxiong also made a special trip back to China.

For a year and a half, the couple took full care of the children

After the diagnosis, the couple thought that negative emotions such as confusion and sadness were useless, and decided to seize the time to take the child to recover. Zhu Jianxiong also stopped going to Tonga for the time being, and they moved to Shenzhen with their family to train at an institution introduced by a friend.

From 2017 to the middle of 2018, for a year and a half, Ms. and Mrs. Li lived in a rental house in Shenzhen and took care of their son's life and training.

"The child's father may not recognize all 26 letters." Ms. Li said that when children can play with iPads, they begin to teach themselves English on it, and they can communicate normally with foreigners. Finding that her son was interested in English, Ms. Li hired a British foreign teacher.

Now talking about this foreign teacher, she also expressed great gratitude. The foreign teacher is very responsible, knowing that he is with a special needs child, not only teaching English, but also collecting information to teach some basic cognition, mathematics, and literature.

After four days of foreign teachers and training a week, the child's condition gradually improved, from the original home class can not sit still for a minute, to be able to study stably for thirty minutes, forty minutes, until one hour of the full class.

At the same time, his cognitive, expressive and self-care abilities have also improved a lot, and he can basically perceive the emotions of others, and wear clothes, wash and eat independently.

"It's hard to go to school" bothers the family

After his son achieved a good recovery, he was already 8 years old. Ms. Li and her husband began to look for primary school for their children, after all, they had postponed rehabilitation training for a year before.

Because there was no household registration or degree in Shenzhen, Ms. Li moved her family back to Guangzhou's Liwan District. However, in the public schools with degree qualifications in Liwan, Ms. Li stayed the most at the school entrance, where she was often stopped by security guards.

Ms. Li said that the school authorities politely refused to "transfer the class" on the grounds of the child's illness and let them go to see special education classes at other schools. "I am not willing, the child can basically communicate normally, but also have the ability to learn, there is no reason not to let into the general school." Moreover, when the diagnosis was first made, the doctor's advice was that the child's symptoms were not serious, and it was best not to train and learn with the children with severe degrees. ”

But they just can't get into public schools, so they have to choose a privately founded international school, on the one hand, let the children read first, on the other hand, also develop children's interest in foreign languages. Unfortunately, this private school is not fully qualified, and by 2019, the boss ran away and the school went bankrupt and closed.

Being able to let children enter an ordinary primary school has become the desire of Ms. Li and her husband and wife to think day and night for two years. Successive failures in enrollment, did not let them give up, heard friends say that there is an international school in Guangzhou may work, so they resolutely sold the house in Liwan, in exchange for a house in Panyu, just to get a degree from this school.

This international school is divided into international classes and domestic classes. In the international class interview, Ms. Li's son successfully passed the interview because of his good English level, cognition and communication. However, before Ms. Li and her husband could celebrate, they received a notice of postponement of their enrollment due to the epidemic.

This extension, a few months later, came a new notice requesting re-registration and interviews, and finally was told that there were no international class seats. While the domestic class needs an entrance examination, Ms. Li's son has not systematically studied the subject knowledge and has not passed the examination.

The son was once again rejected by the school, and the family savings were stretched during this period, so in November 2019, his father Zhu Jianxiong had to fly back to Tonga.
