Levan: Winning this year means a lot, and I'm proud to break The Gad Muller record

After being named FIFA's Best Player for the second time, Lewandowski was interviewed on FIFA's official website, where he talked about how it felt to win consecutive awards, his pride in breaking The Gad Mueller record and his next goals.

FIFA: Levan, you've been named Player of the Best for two consecutive years, was last year more exciting or this year more exciting?

Levan: It's hard to answer, both experiences were really good. The first time is always the first, but winning an award this year means a lot to me. I think my performance over the last few years is moving in the right direction and I've always been happy with individual awards because it also means that my team is recognised and it makes me proud, so I want to thank my teammates for making me what I am. I would also like to thank all the people who supported me and voted for me, everything we do is for the fans, so I also want to dedicate this award to them.

FIFA: You broke the Bundesliga goal record that Gad Müller has held since 1972, how did he motivate you to do that?

LEVAN: I'm sorry Mueller can't witness all this, but I'm sure he'll see it in heaven. I never thought I could break his incredible record, and when I scored that record-breaking ball, it was like a Hollywood movie. It means a lot to me to be able to compare with such a great legend in the history of world football, without him I wouldn't have such goals and motivation, so I'm proud of this record.

FIFA: Your next goal is to get to the World Cup with Poland, it's not easy, right?

Levan: Yes, but we are ready for our challenge, we will face good teams and good players, but we always have only one goal, and that is to get into the World Cup. We will be prepared to do our best and believe in ourselves at all times. I want to make a difference with my goals and I'm always ready to give my all for the team.
