Recently, citizens passing by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music found that the school is undergoing a wall demolition project, and this music school will be an open campus in the future, facing all music lovers and citizens, people can take photos in front of the building that carries historical memory, search for the footprints left by music masters, observe the open classes of famous masters, and feel their love for music in the daily practice of music students, gain inspiration and strength.
In the early years, there were many European-style buildings in the Shangyin campus, and there are three more complete buildings. Among them, the oldest construction is the former Shangyin Administration Building and the former Jewish Club. Originally built in 1910, the two-storey brick and wood structure is in the French Renaissance style, with red-leather tile roofs, chimneys and bay windows, and a large curved terrace and columns, which have endured more than a century of ups and downs, presenting a deep and heavy sense of history.

At the beginning of the last century, a group of Jewish musicians who took refuge in Shanghai were active here, cultivating talents for the development of music culture in Shanghai and even China. After liberation, He Luting, Sang Tong and other directors of Shangyin worked here. The internationally renowned violin concerto "Liang Zhu" was also born here.
Built in 1926, the Shanghai Expert Building and the former Shangyin Library were used as belgian consulates in Shanghai, and the two German-style buildings have their own characteristics. The former features double-broken bay windows and a beautifully carved second-storey terrace railing that contrasts with the concrete rough-drawn walls, while the latter features a Baroque gabled exposed timber structure with small spires in the corners and roof, with strong German medieval residential features. In particular, the stained glass on the windows is influenced by the German Art Nouveau genre and has a unique character.

Architecture is a silent history, and in the upper tone, the stark contrast between the old and new buildings shows a clear footprint of the times. The He Luting Concert Hall, which was rebuilt in 2003, and the new Shangyin Opera House in 2019, let people see the changes in the city. The Heluting Concert Hall, which was rebuilt on the basis of the original Jewish club building, retains the classical European style, while the Shangyin Opera House is the first fully floating structure opera house built with integrated vibration isolation technology in China, which shows people a modern theater with first-class acoustic conditions and high specifications.
