Musk: Tesla's FSD Beta has never had an accident in the year it was launched

Recently, Tesla pushed a new version of the FSD Beta 10.9 version, the biggest highlight of this update is to improve the FSD's driving style, so that it is closer to the autonomous driving performance of human drivers, but also mentioned a more natural unprotected left turn, and "smoother" start the car when the front is about to decelerate.

Perhaps encouraged by FSD's huge advances, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claimed on social networking sites that the vehicles involved in the project had never had any accidents in the more than a year since the company launched the FSD beta (fully autonomous driving) software.

FSD Beta is an early version of Tesla's autopilot software system, after the company selected a subset of owners through its "safety test scores" whose vehicles make up a test fleet and are currently testing the system.

The software enables the vehicle to drive itself autonomously, but the driver needs to be vigilant at all times during the ride and be ready to control the vehicle at all times. It can be seen that in addition to the impact of the vehicle itself, the safety of automatic driving is also affected by the driver's concentration.

Tesla launched the program in October 2020 and has now pushed the software to thousands of car owners.

However, Tesla's approach has caused a lot of criticism, and some critics believe that Tesla pushes the undeveloped functions to consumers, lets them act as "testers", and uses the system on open roads, which is extremely irresponsible.

Tesla argues that they have been very careful about rolling out the features, and that the company will only "slowly push the new features to customers that the company deems safe enough."

It is worth noting that a Tesla Model Y owner has previously complained to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that his vehicle had an accident while using the FSD Beta, but as of now this complaint has not been confirmed.
