Zhangjiajie, January 17 (Correspondent Lü Bing) Xiaohekan Community belongs to the Dayongqiao Subdistrict Office and was changed from a neighborhood committee to a community in June 2017. There are many foreign residents along both sides of the old Zhangsang Highway in Xiaohekan Community, and most of the houses on both sides of the highway are mainly hardware building materials, car repair, car washes, restaurants, and second-hand car sales. Due to various reasons, there are many historical illegal constructions, and the demolition is quite difficult. Recently, the Dayongqiao Street Office and community workers in Yongding District conducted more than a week of household surveys and door-to-door ideological propaganda for all illegal households, and none of them demolished themselves. "No matter how hard it is to gnaw on the bones, we must gnaw on it, and even the most difficult battles must be fought." Li Zongwen, secretary of the Dayongqiao Street Office, said in a categorical manner that the confidence of all the staff of the street office and the community in fighting this tough battle has been enhanced.
On December 30, 2021, the demolition operation officially began, and the demolition was postponed for a few days due to weather reasons, as of now, 37 demolition sites have been demolished, with a total area of 3,080 square meters of demolished buildings. The centralized rectification of illegal construction mobilized 75 urban management law enforcement personnel, 15 natural resources institutes, 60 street office staff, 18 community cadres, and 237 migrant workers.
The demolition of the historical illegal construction along both sides of the old Zhangsang Highway in Xiaohekan Community is a manifestation of the determination of the Dayongqiao Street Office to "prohibit new additions and eliminate stocks". In the next stage, the Dayongqiao Subdistrict Office will continue to increase the control of new additions and the demolition of historical illegal construction.
