On January 17, Beijing time, according to Eurosport, Dominic Dale, the champion of the first snooker Shanghai Masters in 2007, said when talking about the upcoming single-time limited time match that it was a game that allowed players to step out of their comfort zone.

Snooker single limited time is a special tournament with a special format. The 2022 Snooker Single Time Limit will take place on January 20-23 at the Morningside Arena in Leicester, making it the eighth ranking match of the season. A total of 128 people will compete in this event, of which 25 are from the Chinese Legion.

The format of the event, as the name suggests, is a game of 10 minutes, with a limit of 15 seconds for the first 5 minutes and a limit of 10 seconds for the last 5 minutes. Each round of the competition is drawn, that is, there is no general round of the draw table.

Snooker's orthodoxists, or purists, weren't huge fans of the format — but the audience loved it, and the contestants thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Single-time limited time tournaments used to be invitational events, and now it is a ranked event. Born in 1971, Dominic Dale was the winner of the event in 2014. The Welshman has won only two ranking titles in his career – the 1997 Grand Prix and the 2007 inaugural Shanghai Masters.

Today, Dale is well known for his commentatorial work at Eurosport, but this week, the 51-year-old will be back in the lineup for the tournament he once won.

Dale admits that his memories are a bit vague because it was a late-night celebration, but he is looking forward to the short battle.

Asked about his recollections of his win, Dale said: "(That) was followed by (was) a fairly late nightlife. ”

"It was a great, fun event and it suited my slightly extroverted personality. It's really an event designed specifically for me. ”

"It's an event that takes you out of your comfort zone."

"There's a lot of pressure in the game, even if it's just half a mistake or something that can't be solved, you can't get away with it from your opponent and get away with another shot. All of these things can cause tremendous stress. ”

"It's great and scary at the same time. While it was a test, I was looking forward to it. ”
