【Scholar Profile】Sun Zhengyu is the director of the Research Center for Basic Theory of Philosophy of Jilin University, the key scientific research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, and a senior professor of philosophy and social sciences of Jilin University.
In 2022, my main job will be to write Contemporary Chinese Philosophy.
Building a philosophy with Chinese characteristics with subjectivity and originality is the historical mission of contemporary Chinese philosophy, and it is also the intention and pursuit of writing Contemporary Chinese Philosophy. The theoretical innovation and theoretical creation of contemporary Chinese philosophy are fundamentally based on the great social changes in contemporary China and the changes in the form of contemporary human civilization, constantly "refining new theories with learning and rationality" and "summarizing new practices with regularity", giving philosophical thoughts, philosophical viewpoints, and philosophical propositions new ideological connotations, era connotations, and civilization connotations, accelerating the construction of a discipline system, academic system, and discourse system of philosophy with Chinese characteristics, in order to adhere to the Chinese road, carry forward the Chinese spirit, Condensing China's strength to provide philosophical ideas and philosophical wisdom of philosophy with Chinese characteristics. This requires us to have a lofty atmosphere, a righteous spirit of sincere exploration, and the courage to dare to innovate, to create a philosophy with Chinese characteristics with subjectivity and originality with the theoretical thinking of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, and to write a "Contemporary Chinese Philosophy" that shows Chinese characteristics.
Theoretical thinking is the way of thinking and ideological power that grasps reality, leads practice, and promotes civilization with theory, is the "universal light" that illuminates academic research, and is also the "living soul" that writes "Contemporary Chinese Philosophy". To write Contemporary Chinese Philosophy with theoretical thinking, it is necessary to discover and propose theoretical insight into contemporary problems, summarize and refine theoretical generalizations of epochal problems, theoretical speculation to explain and demonstrate epochal issues, and theoretical ideological power to answer and solve epochal problems. This requires us to "get the truth from the heart" with solid literature accumulation, "invent in the heart" with profound ideological accumulation, "activate in the heart" with thick life accumulation, and truly write "Contemporary Chinese Philosophy" into an academic work of "works and hearts" with the mission consciousness of "being a seeker and disseminator of truth, goodness, and beauty".
