When Long Shichang approached the bunker, he stood up violently, holding the explosive canister in his hand, standing proudly. He quickly pulled the fuse and shoved the blaster into the perforation of the bunker.
The cunning enemy actually pushed the blaster out of the bunker, and the blaster was emitting white smoke...
"Long Shichang! Long Shichang! There are only 7 seconds left, only 7 seconds left to explode! The warriors who were watching all this closely all cried out eagerly, though they knew that Long Shichang could not hear it.
Everyone had a heart hanging in their hands, but Long Shichang did not leave, he suddenly stood up, grabbed the smoke-filled blaster, and stuffed it into the firing hole of the enemy bunker.

It can be said that at the most critical moment of the battle, Long Shichang actually turned the tide of the battle with the strength of one person and opened the victory channel for the whole company.

It did not take long for the commanders and fighters of the Eighth Company to eliminate the enemy in the bunker and successfully occupy the 597.9 heights.
After the Battle of Shangganling, in order to commend the heroic deeds of the martyr Long Shichang, the headquarters of the Volunteer Army posthumously awarded him special merits and posthumously awarded him the glorious title of "Second Class Combat Hero".
Friends also gave great recognition to the volunteer hero who single-handedly destroyed four enemy forts, not only posthumously awarded the Hero Medal, but also named a primary school "Shichang Elementary School".
The people of Songtao County, Guizhou Province, Long Shichang's hometown, renamed the district, township and village where he was born after the hero.
It can be said that Long Shichang performed extremely heroically, was a Huang Jiguang-style hero, no less than Huang Jiguang, but perhaps because there were too many volunteer heroes emerging in the Battle of Shangganling, Long Shichang, a special meritorious hero, is now little known. But in any case, such heroes should be remembered forever.
