Australian Equestrian Steeplechase: Riders will compete in the Million Dollar Prize

On January 17, Beijing time, the Australian track steeplechase will be greatly promoted, and the Gold Coast's "Magic Million" campaign plan will provide a prize pool of $1 million to attract more Australian riders to compete in their home countries. This year's inaugural tournament, held as part of the "Magic Millions," will offer $100,000 in prize money, while the winner's check reached $34,000.

The Fantastic Million, co-owned by Katie Page and husband Gerry Harvey, has now partnered with Tom Magnell from Coolmore to expand the event next year and hopes to help push Australia's equestrian course obstacle courses by offering prize money that rivals the biggest races in Europe and the United States. The core goal is to hope that through such competitions, young Australian talents can choose to stay at home to participate in the competition, rather than spending manpower and material resources to participate in the competition abroad. Katie and Gerry's daughter Georgina Harvey is a professional equestrian track steeplechase player who has been racing in Europe since 2013 and currently works near Stal Tops in the Netherlands, while Tom Magnil is a rider who grew up in Ireland. Organisers hope the event will inspire Australian obstacle course riders, such as Olympic rider Andrew Hoy, to train and hone their skills domestically.

Ms Katie Page said the timing was perfect for young steeplechase riders competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. "We already have a track and we can't think of any better way to support athletes in this country," she said. We want to push the steeplechase in Australia and the best thing to do is put the money on the table. ”
