The upcoming Steam Deck can run a ton of the hit AAA titles, and now a new discovery suggests that God of War 4 may be among them.
According to Gaming On Linux, the game is set to "out of the box" on Linux. This is thanks to Proton, a compatibility layer that allows Windows-based games to run on Linux, and Steam Deck will also use the same compatibility layer.
Gaming on Linux notes that God of War 4's use of NVIDIA's GPUs can be some serious stuttering, as it's common for dense graphics games developed for Windows and Proton to take time to build shader caches. It's unclear if these issues will arise on steam deck, but it's worth noting that Steam Deck uses a custom AMD RDNA2 GPU, not Nvidia's.
Last week, V confirmed that the Steam Deck will go on sale on time in February 2022.
