Roma's 21-year-old centre-back thanked Mourinho and his team-mates for giving him advice and helping him grow

In the 22nd round of Serie A, Roma beat Cagliari 1-0 at home.

In this match, Roma centre-back Kumbula performed well. After the game, the player was smiling in an interview.

In the summer of 2020, Kumbula came to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome from Verona.

Coumbra is about to turn 22 in early February this year. He played the full 90 minutes against Cagliari and, along with teammate Mancini, kept a clean sheet.

In his post-match press conference, the coach highlighted the young centre-back's contribution.

Player Kumbra himself in an interview with the media also stressed that Mourinho and his teammates have made a lot of suggestions for him, which has helped him grow.

Coumbra said: "I'm happy, I've come out of a period when I didn't play much and struggled with performance. Thanks to my teammates and coaches, they gave me a lot of advice and I have been training with all my strength and ready.

The young Coumbra's contract in Rome expires in 2025.

So far this season, Kumbula has made 13 appearances for Roma in all competitions, accumulating 677 minutes, helping the team not concede a goal in six games.

Coumbra is gradually winning the trust of team manager Jose Mourinho, which is evident in the stats.

In Roma's first 11 games, Kumbula only played for a few minutes. But since the beginning of November, Coumbra has made seven appearances for Roma.

Against Cagliari, Kumbula played the full 90 minutes and helped the team concede zero goals, which was an important experience for the players themselves.
