Live bar January 15 News Marseille was banned by FIFA for a series of bizarre operations to introduce Senegalese midfielder Guye, and Guye himself was suspended for four months.

In the summer window of 2020, Guye moved from Ligue 1 side Le Havre to Watford for £45,000 a week, but just 17 hours later, the Senegalese midfielder moved to Ligue 1 marseille to sign for four years. The player made his debut at the current Africa Cup of Nations, but did not make it into the squad in the second.

FIFA will ban Marseille's reinforcements for the next two windows, starting this summer window, and will need to compensate Watford for 2.5 million euros. Marseille will appeal the outcome of the arbitration to CAS, and although it may be rejected, Marseille hopes to have a result within three to six months.

Watford, for their part, also appealed, hoping to receive 10 million euros in compensation.
