Episode 3: Curling

Curling, also known as curling and ice skating, originated in Scotland and was listed as an official sport at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

The game is scored on the curling distance from the center of the base, and the team with the nearest points wins. In curling matches, two teams participate in each game, with four players from each side, divided into first base, second base, third base, fourth base, and cross-pot throws in order, and each round will throw 16 pots for a total of 10 rounds.

When one team member throws a pot, two companions hold an ice brush in front of the curling slide to quickly brush the ice surface to control the direction and speed of the pot. While the thrower strives to slide the curling to the center of the circle, he can also use curling to knock the opponent's curling out of the camp or to knock the curling on the field into the center of the camp. After curling crosses the center line, both sides can have a team member sweep the ice for the other curler to sabotage each other's tactics.

The curling standard course is 45.72 meters long and 5 meters wide, and there are four tracks at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. In order to reduce the friction between the pot and the ice surface, water droplets should be sprayed evenly on the ice surface before the competition to form a dotted hemp surface.

The curling pot consists of a jug body, handle and bolts, is less than 30 cm in diameter and weighs nearly 20 kg, and the pot body granite is from Scotland. Athletes use the kicker to glide, and the structure of the soles of the two feet is different, making it easy to switch between taxiing and braking.
