Santa Monica: God of War's PC accessibility will lay the groundwork for a new game

The PC version of God of War 4 is coming soon, and the PC version not only brings features such as unlimited frame rate and ultra-wide display support, but also adds many auxiliary features. Mila Pavlin, head of user experience at Santa Monica Studios, told PCGamer that these accessibility features lay the groundwork for the next piece.

Mila Pavlin says, "It does lay some groundwork for the backend, and a lot of accessibility features can change the way you create content. [PC porting] allows us to revisit how we build this underlying code. ”

For example, in the PC version of God of War, the developers wanted to solve the sprint problem, which required pressing the joystick key (that is, the L3 key) on the handle. Pavlin said: "Many players find this button difficult to use. For players with muscle fatigue, pressing the remote bar can be an obstacle, so Santa Monica added an automatic sprint feature to the PC version. You can set a value to determine how long you need to hold down a direction before Qui-Ye starts the auto sprint.

Pavlin also said: "Work like custom keys on the keyboard allows us to really understand its overall functionality and implement it into all of our SMS products." This will help us lay a better foundation for future products. ”
