Yunnan athletes achieved good results in the national physics competition for middle school students

In 2021, with the support of the Yunnan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, the Yunnan Physical Society organized 10,997 students from 94 middle schools in the province to participate in the Yunnan Division of the 38th National Physics Competition for Secondary School Students, and the number of participants exceeded 10,000 for the first time, and the number of participating schools and students reached a record high.

A few days ago, the 38th National Physics Competition for Middle School Students of the Chinese Physical Society came to an end. After more than 8 months of hard work, after the preliminary round and the re-competition of the theoretical and experimental examination selection, the Yunnan Provincial Physical Society recommended 12 students to participate in the national competition, all won the national final medals, achieved the best results in history. Among them, Li Canhui from the Affiliated Middle School of Yunnan Normal University won the gold medal in the national final with a total score of 249.3 points and 125th place in the country; 11 students from Kunming No. 1 Middle School, Qujing No. 1 Middle School and the Affiliated Middle School of Yunnan Normal University won the bronze medal in the national final.

Dai Benzhong, secretary general of the Yunnan Provincial Physical Society and professor of the School of Physics and Astronomy of Yunnan University, said that physics, as a basic natural science, studies the structure and interaction of the material world, which is not only the pillar of many applied technology disciplines, but also the basis of other natural sciences.
