On January 13, the cover news reporter learned from the Luzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment that the Luzhou Municipal Pollution Prevention and Control Leading Group Office today issued the "Notice on Activating heavy pollution weather warnings".

According to the Sichuan Provincial Ecological Environment Monitoring Station and the Sichuan Meteorological Observatory Federation, since January 14, most cities in the province have deteriorated meteorological diffusion conditions, pollutants continue to accumulate, and the meteorological conditions will continue to deteriorate from January 15 to 19, and there may be a risk of moderate to severe pollution.

According to the requirements of the Sichuan Provincial Pollution Prevention and Control Leading Group Office "Letter on Recommending Strengthening the Emergency Warning of Heavily Polluted Weather" (Sichuan Pollution Prevention office [2022] No. 3), it was decided to start the level III yellow warning of heavily polluted weather from 00:00 on January 14, 2022, and upgrade it to a level II orange warning at 0:00 on January 15.

The notice requires that during the emergency warning period of heavily polluted weather, it is necessary to do a good job in coordinating the passage of thermal coal transport vehicles, and must not adopt a "one-size-fits-all" approach to emergency control of heavily polluted weather. All districts, counties, parks, and relevant departments (units) at the municipal level strictly implement the "Luzhou Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Response Plan" and the requirements of the emergency control list to ensure that various measures are implemented, reduce pollution emissions, and mitigate the impact of heavily polluted weather.

In addition, the Luzhou City Public Security Traffic Police Detachment has made it clear that during the orange warning period of this round of heavily polluted weather, the single and double number restriction measures for motor vehicles will not be implemented for the time being.
