Back in 2015, when the villagers of Xiaowangligou, the fifth group of Xiaowangligou in Tiegongpaozi Village, Duolun County, Inner Mongolia, were sleeping, when suddenly a loud noise woke up the villagers, but the villagers did not find anything after getting up. The next morning, when some villagers went up the mountain to work, they accidentally found a huge hole in the mountain, and there were many rocks scattered around, and the villagers immediately called the police. After hearing the news, the local police rushed to the scene, and after a careful investigation of the surrounding area, it was believed that the opening of the cave was blown open with explosives, and the villagers said that they heard the explosion last night. From this, the police judged that the entrance to the cave was probably blown open by the stolen tomb thieves, and immediately informed the local cultural relics department.
Later, after the local cultural relics department was notified, it immediately organized archaeologists to rush to the scene, and after entering the cave exploration experts said that there was an ancient tomb below, and reported the discovery of the ancient tomb here to the higher cultural relics department. After obtaining the approval of the superior department, the archaeological team immediately launched a rescue excavation of the tomb, the tomb chamber is a green brick tomb, a semi-circular dome, and the archaeological team clears a tomb box in the center of the tomb that can prove the identity of the tomb owner. The surface of the tomb box is engraved with 9 seal characters of "Ancient Noble Concubine Xiao Clan Xuantang Zhiming", according to the epitaph, the tomb owner married the Liao Shengzong Yelü Wenshu nu in 986 AD and was made empress. He had a man and two daughters, and was later demoted to a noble concubine due to court battles.
According to experts, a large number of gold and silverware, jade, porcelain, etc. have been unearthed from the tomb of the noble concubines, many of which represent the high-specification burial tools of the royal family, such as silver gilt hollow phoenix pattern high wing crown, gold flower and silver hollow phoenix pattern high tassel boots, gold inlaid jade dragon pattern jade waist, etc., such high-specification burial tools are the first time to be found. According to statistics, nearly 10,000 precious cultural relics have been excavated in the tomb, many of which are national treasure-level cultural relics, including several Pieces of Liao Dynasty porcelain, which experts say are comparable to Yuan Qinghua porcelain. Experts said that so many precious cultural relics were unearthed, and before that, only the tomb of Marquis Haidihou in Nanchang, Hunan Province, this tomb of Guifei became one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in the country in 2015.
