Time to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, ushering in a new year of 2022, with the Beijing flavor of the New Year, the second Chinese New Year performance season of Beijing Performing Arts Group also met with the audience in the capital again. From the New Year to the Spring Festival, the nine theater troupes under the Beijing Performing Arts Group will stage a variety of outstanding plays such as acrobatic dramas, commentaries, puppet dramas, dance dramas, and children's dramas in more than 20 theaters.
The performance season lasted until February 15, with a total of three major sections of wonderful content: "Beijing Performance Appreciation Drama", "Opera Over the New Year" and "Beijing Flavor Has Good Drama".
From January 15th to 16th, the drama "Guijie Street" hosted by the China Critics Theatre will meet with the audience. The play is based on drama, and at the same time integrates various artistic elements such as opera, musical theater and qu art, and is starred by Hou Yansong, a first-class actor of the National Drama Theatre, a winner of the Plum Blossom Award and a famous actor.
In order to welcome the arrival of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the children's musical "Ice and Snow Dream of Ice and Snow Melting" produced by the Beijing Children's Art Theater will be performed in January and February, which is one of the few winter Olympic-themed parent-child dramas during the Winter Olympics. The children's drama "Uncle Rat Wakes Up Late" will be performed for 14 performances at the Grand Theater of the National Cultural Palace from January 20 to 28.
Jointly launched by Beijing and Xinjiang, the dance drama "Five Stars Out of the East" performed by the Beijing Opera and Dance Theater has been performed in Beijing for two rounds, and not only tens of thousands of audiences have been successfully circled, but also received unanimous praise from expert audiences. As an important work of the Chinese New Year season, the play will land at the National Centre for the Performing Arts from February 8 to 13.
Watching a big drama is a long-standing festival tradition for Beijing audiences. On the occasion of the New Year in 2022, the three major opera theater troupes of China Commentary Theatre, Beijing Hebei Zizi Theater Troupe and Beijing QuQu Troupe specially launched the "Xiqu Over the New Year" series of performances. The commentaries "Zhang Yu Boiling the Sea", "Xiangyang Shop", "Tanuki Cat for Prince", "Flower as a Medium", the classic Beijing opera "Smoke Pot", "Longsugou" and the classic repertoire of Hebei Zizi will be staged at the National Local Opera Performance Center.
Bringing together many outstanding young cross-talk actors from the Beijing Qu Art Troupe, including many traditional famous sections and new creations, the special cross-talk "New Year Blessings" will be presented to the audience with wonderful joke baggage at the Shunyi Grand Theatre on February 4. From Chinese New Year's Eve to the sixth day of the Chinese New Year, the Beijing Qu Art Troupe will also launch a series of performances in the "New Year Blessings - Spring Festival Dramas and Even Watching" online.
The Beijing Chinese Orchestra will bring a special performance of folk music "Books Build Dreams, Golden Tiger nafu" at the Guotu Art Center on January 24. On February 2nd and 3rd, the China Puppet Art Theatre's newly created drama "The Elephant Is Coming" based on the theme of migrating elephants in Yunnan will be premiered.
