WHO: Stop saying "Delta Croon" anymore

According to the satellite agency Zurich reported on January 11, Maria VanKelkhof, head of the new crown virus technology of the World Health Organization (WHO), said that "Deltacron" may be the result of contaminated samples during the sequencing process, rather than a combination of two virus variants, and also recommends not using the name "Deltacron".

Previously, local media in Cyprus reported that a new variant of the new coronavirus known as "Delta Kerong" was found in the country, which has a similar genetic background to the Delta variant and contains some genetic mutations of the Omilkeron variant.

Van Krkhof called for the use of the terms "Deltacron" and "Flurona," which means the flu and the coronavirus are onset at the same time. Van Krkhof wrote on social media: "These words imply a combination of viruses/variants, and that didn't happen. 'Delta Croon' may have been contaminated during sequencing (the sample). ”
