BBC: Bayern were the only profitable team to win last season's major European leagues

According to the BBC, KPMG recently released a report analyzing the financial situation of the champions of eight major European leagues (including Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Dutch First Division, Portuguese Premier League and Turkish Super League) last season, and Bayern was the only one of the eight clubs to make a profit.

Note: The champions of these eight leagues in the 20-21 season are: Manchester City, Atletico, Inter, Bayern, Lille, Ajax, Sporting Portugal, Besiktas.

Bayern's profit after tax for the 20-21 season was 1.8 million euros.

City's total revenue last season was €644 million and they were also the only one of eight clubs to see an increase in revenue, up €96 million from the 19-20 season. City's net transfer expenditure last season was €294 million, and they are also one of the highest paid teams in football (£351.4 million in the 18-19 season). City's market capitalisation is now at €1.237 billion, the highest in the world (for football clubs), with Manchester United and Chelsea being two other clubs with a market capitalisation of more than €1 billion.

Inter milan made a net loss of 245.6 million euros in the 20-21 season, the highest ever recorded by an Italian football club.
