The BBC takes stock of Tenhach's top 5 challenges since taking office: reinforcements are key & how to use Cristiano Ronaldo

Today, Tenghach has become Manchester United's fifth official manager since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013. In these years, time has passed and the club seems to be moving forward, but it seems to be far less than the Ferguson era.

On some level, Tenhach is currently at a very favorable point in time. Structural issues seem to be the sticking point at Old Trafford after moyes, louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, so any coach will find the job tough for United until they are addressed.

The BBC says it is now the opportunity for the 52-year-old coach to prove his ability to transition from a well-known coach at a prestigious club in a less competitive league to a top-level league coach. Clearly, Tennhach still has a lot of challenges to overcome.

1. Convince the skeptics

Compared to Pochettino, United feel that Tenhach's enlightened style and willingness to work with The Manchester United's director of football are more in line with the current situation at Old Trafford. But Tenhach is stepping into a strange world. Unlike Pochettino, he has never experienced the uniqueness of English football. In English football, constantly exhausting matches followed, the promotion brought about by winning increased the further congestion of the schedule, and the space for rest was almost non-existent.

Ajax, for example, play five domestic matches, and United have to play at least seven even in early exits in the FA Cup and League Cup this season. In the three weeks of winter break at Ajax, United played five games, and many more were cancelled due to the pandemic.

Clearly, with the club's pre-season games in Thailand, Australia and Liverpool, how Tenhach imparts his ideas is crucial. He needs the players to accept his philosophy immediately, the opportunity to make up for the lost time is limited, and most of his players will be competing internationally.

2. How to deal with the problem of C Luo

Cristiano Ronaldo's high salary and superstar status always attract people's attention. The Portuguese have scored 21 goals for United this season and progress will be difficult unless Tenhach can find a consistent and proven way to use the 37-year-old, or choose to clean him up.

Whether it's Ronaldo's inability to carry out strong, high-frequency high-pressure pushes due to his apparent physical age restrictions, or the frosty relationship with Maguire about the latter as captain, Ronaldo's presence has always been a problem for Tenhach. Tenhach has never managed a player of Ronaldo's caliber. He had to get it done.

3. About the player's contract and future

Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Cavani and Mata will all expire. Phil Jones is on contract until 2023, but he has only played twice in more than two years.

There's also Dean Henderson, Bailey and Rashford, whose future is unclear. Martial, Van der Beek and Brandon Williams were also not ideal on loan at their respective clubs, and Armad Diano, who was loaned to Rangers, was not as convincing as playing in United's first team, while Greenwood remained untouchable.

Although not the players mentioned above will eventually leave, there will be considerable vacancies to fill. While Vieira did a good job at Crystal Palace under the same circumstances last summer, finding the right player at Manchester United may not be so easy.

4. Meet the expectations of the outside world

Tennhach's ability to lead United to the top four in the league in the first season and win the domestic cup will be a revival of Manchester United's good. United have not won any trophies since winning the Europa League under Jose Mourinho in 2017, the longest period of time when United did not win a trophy except from 1977 to 1983.

If, as expected, they fail to reach the top four this season, next season will be their fourth missed Champions League finish in the last nine years.

Highlighting these statistics is proof that this is one of the reasons why some people believe that tenghach needs to be given time to realize his ideas and bring tangible improvements to a club that once won naturally.

But this is Manchester United. There are many external factors in Old Trafford. Tenhach needs to prove early on that he is the right person for the job. Not winning four games often leads to discussions about crises, and that won't change. Time can only be gained from the outside if the performance is positive.

5. Reinforcements are key

It's clear that Manchester United's recruitment is a major issue. In woodward's final years as executive vice-president, United's signings received significant support.

Solskjaer spent months convincing Edgar Cavani to stay at the club for an extra year as the main attacking point, as well as contracts for players such as Bailey and Jones. But there seems to be no plausible reason to renew some players, just to fight for a transfer fee for players who clearly have no long-term future at Old Trafford.

None of the recent deals have impressed, such as those previously purchased players, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka, the latter regressing to lose his place in the team, the former now being called for abandonment.

Interim manager Ronnick also highlighted the continuity needed to succeed like Manchester City and Liverpool. Before the start of this regrettable season, it was known that United needed a defensive midfielder, but the signings still worked.

Somehow, despite United investing more than £180 million in Maguire, Varane, Lindelof and Bailly since 2016, United's centre-backs remain weak. And they also need a world-class striker who is far more capable than their existing striker.
