On January 11, according to the data of the Association of Passenger Vehicles, the retail sales of the passenger car market in December 2021 reached 2.105 million units, a year-on-year -7.9%, and the retail sales from January to December 2021 totaled 20.146 million units, +4.4% year-on-year.
In terms of new energy, retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 475,000 units in December, +128.8% year-on-year and +25.4% month-on-month. From January to December, the retail sales of new energy vehicles were 2.989 million units, +169.1% year-on-year.
In terms of penetration rate, the domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in December was 22.6%, and the penetration rate from January to December was 14.8%, which was significantly higher than the penetration rate of 5.8% in 2020.
In terms of car companies, in December, the new energy passenger car market diversified, with sales exceeding 10,000 companies, including: BYD 93,338, Tesla China 70,847, Shangtong Wuling 60,372, Great Wall 20,926, Chery 20,501, Geely 16,831, Xiaopeng 16,000, SAIC Passenger Car 14,868, GAC Aegan 14,500, Ideal 14,087, FAW-Volkswagen 11,213, Weilai 10,489, Changan Automobile has 10,404 vehicles and United 10,127 vehicles.
