The external screen resolution reaches 2560 x 1080, between 2K and 1080P, supports 120Hz refresh rate, and has made high brush adaptations for most apps. At the same time, the machine also supports 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 1 billion color display, HDR10+, global maximum brightness of 1000 nits, and high visibility in sunlight. At the same time, the Honor Magic V outer screen is equipped with a front-facing 42-megapixel camera, which is enough to replace the bar machine in terms of front-facing self-timer.
Note that the outside of the Honor Magic V outer screen is slightly curved, which is done to make it easier to hold in the closed state, and there is no problem of color cast at the edge of the screen, and the field of view is very clean. Honor's solution idea is summed up as parallel horizons, smart split-screen, suspended windows and innovative split-screen navigation.
Parallel Vision can cut the inner screen into two 21.3:9 ratio screens, which are used to display the main interface and secondary interface of an APP, for example, you can read the product details while looking at other information of the e-commerce platform.
Although Parallel Horizons is not a very new feature today, Honor has perfected some of the problems with its use. Honor's parallel vision adapts to most of the app that is currently used daily, and also makes a switch for this function, whether the application on the phone needs to activate the parallel horizon can be manually opened or closed.
The smart split screen is very easy to understand, that is, the large screen presents two APPS at the same time, for example, I can watch the video on the B station while using a memo to write down some video inspiration or notes; or while editing the WPS, while selecting pictures from the gallery to insert. Simply put, split-screen navigation is a quick entrance to the three split-screen modes of parallel horizon, smart split-screen and suspended window, eliminating the middle gesture operation, and through simple clicking, it can complete the split-screen function that required complex gestures in the past to achieve, reducing the threshold for use. For example, when you need to display two APPS at the same time, the system will list all the APPS that can be split screens for users to choose.
This feature is very practical on the folding screen, and after the Honor Magic V, it may appear more on Honor's other large-screen devices.
In addition, Honor also added the function of adjusting the proportion of the APP. Many of the problems encountered by folding screen mobile phones today are the legacy problems of the past Android tablets, such as app put on the large screen, will not adapt to the screen size, but roughly scale the scale, which leads to the information displayed by the large screen is not as much as the conventional mobile phone, or even less, not only wastes the advantages of the large screen, but also is not conducive to the use of users.
Adjusted to 16:9 after the effect
In this function, users can adjust the proportion of the APP display by themselves, and this function does not conflict with the split screen function such as parallel horizon. However, after adjusting the proportion, there will be a part of the inoperable area on the left and right sides of the inner screen, some waste, it is recommended to optimize into a controllable area, so that users can operate normally without sliding the APP area.
As a mobile phone, Honor Magic V can naturally integrate into the Glory intelligent ecology, and can be coordinated with the computer with multiple screens like Honor's mobile phones and tablets. When working with a computer, you can currently display up to two windows, and the size of the screen will change depending on the folding state. Incidentally, Honor will carry out OTA updates in the future, so that it can act as a second screen of the notebook to expand the computer display area, achieve dual-screen office, or mirror the computer screen. From the product point of view, the Honor Magic V does not hover less than some of the playability of the folding screen, but the significance of the hover is not in itself, but the related adaptation is not done well, if only one or two applications have been adapted, the significance of supporting hover is not great. And after hovering, half of the inner screen display area is often wasted. The reason why Glory does not hover, probably still hopes that users will use the outer screen and the inner screen completely, and both sides of the screen can act as the main force.
