Many people are very curious, why did the Rulers of the Qing Dynasty ban Changbai Mountain for more than 200 years? What's the hidden story? In fact, there are three main reasons.
First, protect the dragon vein. Chinese has always valued feng shui and believed that those who can become emperors are guarded by dragon veins. The form of Changbai Mountain is very similar to that of the dragon, and it is also the place where the Manchu Qing Dynasty started, so it has always been regarded as the "dragon vein" land by the Rulers of the Qing Dynasty. The Manchus replaced the Han rule after entering the pass, and they have always had a grudge against the Han people in their hearts, fearing that they would threaten their rule. In addition, their management of the three northeastern provinces is also quite strict, and Han Chinese are not allowed to enter the three eastern provinces without a pass. It was not until the Guangxu period, when the Qing government was corrupt and unable to maintain order in the northeast, that many Han Chinese migrated here.
Second, changbai mountain was used as a granary after the retreat of the Manchu Qing regime. In order to avoid being defeated by the enemy one day, the ancient feudal dynasties had no way to retreat, and they would build a capital after they took power, and once the enemy came and could not resist, they could withdraw to the capital. Therefore, the rulers of the Qing Dynasty made Changbai Mountain a capital in case one day the Han people called and they could have a way out.
Third, geography is quite important. The northeast is close to Mongolia and North Korea, and ambitious Tsarist Russia has always been eyeing the tiger. In order to prevent foreign forces from blending into China's territory, it is heavily guarded here and no unrelated personnel are allowed to enter. In addition, Changbai Mountain is also rich in valuable medicinal materials such as ginseng and deer antler velvet, which can avoid the destruction of these precious medicinal materials after the ban. Of course, for the Qing Dynasty royal family, they also did not want these precious medicinal materials to be obtained by ordinary people.
Although they had carefully protected the dragon vein for more than two hundred years, the Qing Dynasty eventually perished. However, the Qing rulers' move to ban changbai mountain also left a lot of resources for the northeast region. From this perspective, this is also a good thing to do for future generations.
