TA: Villa is paid £240,000 a week for Coutinho, with a non-mandatory buyout clause of £33 million

The Athletic reported on Jan. 8 that Aston Villa will pay Coutinho about £240,000 a week and has a £33m buyout clause.

Coutinho has officially joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season. Barca have always wanted to send Coutinho away, free up the team's salary space and keep the salary line below the salary cap to register Felan Torres.

It is reported that the buyout clause in Coutinho's loan contract is £33 million, but it is not mandatory. Aston Villa will take on part of Coutinho's salary, which is around £240,000 a week. Both Barca and Aston Villa are happy with the loan, but Coutinho should not be able to catch up with this Sunday's FA Cup match against Manchester United.
