The first price increase was in November 2019, the price of Tesla FSD rose from $6,000 to $7,000, up $1,000; the second price increase was july 1, 2020, Tesla FSD on the basis of $7,000, continued to raise $1,000 to $8,000; in October 2020, it was a direct price increase of $2,000. The reason for the previous price increase was because the Tesla FSD beta was limited. This marks the beginning of a testing project that allows some drivers with high enough safety scores to contribute to the development of semi-autonomous driving technology.
According to the Society of Automotive Engineers, Tesla's FSD suite is currently level 2. SAE has listed the features of a secondary autonomous vehicle that can control both steering and speed. Tesla FSD features include Autopilot Beta Navigation, Auto Lane Change, Auto Park, Summon, Smart Summon, Traffic and Stop Sign Control Beta, and two features of Autopilot: Traffic Perception Cruise Control and Autopilot. Tesla's FSD lacks a feature: autonomous driving on city streets, a feature that has been developed for years.
