The summoning feature is part of Tesla's Full AutoPilot suite, which allows owners to direct their cars to their location using smartphones and their GPS locators, which primarily utilize its external cameras to identify the surrounding environment and objects to function properly.

However, there is no reasonable explanation for why Tesla did not stop before it reached the plane, and we do not know the exact time of manufacture of the vehicle, because Tesla previously achieved its semi-autonomous driving function by using cameras and radar in its vehicles, and later transitioned to running semi-autonomous driving functions only through camera systems with the introduction of Tesla Vision.
