An event was held that traveled through ancient and modern times
On the afternoon of January 2nd, the "Ancient and Modern - Gulangyu Intangible Cultural Heritage Nanyin Fashion Show" was held in the "Island of Music" Gulangyu Shuzhuang Garden. Coinciding with the New Year's Day holiday, it attracts citizens and tourists to stop and watch and feel the cultural feast brought by the millennium ancient music!
The event was hosted by gulangyu management committee and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Xiamen Branch. The exhibition adopts the technique of "collision" of ancient and modern times, and perfectly integrates the Nanyin of "the living fossil of ancient Chinese music" with the Song Jin fashion show, Four Elegant performances and dances embroidered with gulangyu elements, which is not only a New Year feast of "listening, appreciating, smelling and tasting", but also a fashion display of the unique charm of the century-old Gulangyu Island.

Gulangyu Island and Nanyin have many historical marks. According to records, Mr. Lin Yijia, the owner of shuzhuang Garden, once recorded his experience of "less love for his music and once learned the pipa", and praised lin Jiqiu, the master of Nanyin compilation. On the day of the event, the moment when the nanyin sounded, it seemed to be the continuation of the leading edge of the thousand-year-old music and the century-old Shuzhuang.
Nanyin, also known as Nan music, Southern Music, Southern Orchestra, String Pipe, Lang Junle, etc., is one of the four ancient music, and has a history of more than 1,000 years. During the Kangxi Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, the Longevity Celebration Ceremony, Min Wu Shao FangXian entered the capital to perform the song in front of the Imperial Palace, and was given the "Imperial QingQu". Therefore, Nanyin is known as "Treasure of Huaxia", "Living Fossil of Music", and "Imperial Qingqu". In September 2009, Nanyin was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Founded in 1954, Xiamen South Orchestra, formerly known as Xiamen Golden Wind (Golden Phoenix) South Orchestra, is one of the only two professional performance groups in China, which not only abides by the previous law, but also has the courage to innovate and is unique. Adhering to the route of attaching equal importance to inheritance and innovation, the Nanyin works created by the Nanyin Orchestra have won many awards in major competitions across the country, and have won the Wenhua Award, the highest award of the Chinese Ministry of Culture, and the "Peony Award", the highest award of Chinese music art.

Accompanied by the rhythmic ancient scores of Nanyin artists playing the classic melody of "Plum Blossom Exercise", 30 tall professional models strolled through the Shuzhuang Garden to show the beauty of nan music instruments for the audience. They are dressed in gulangyu element fashion designed by Mr. Zeng Fengfei, the winner of the highest award of Chinese fashion design, and the portraits of egrets, waves, bougainvillea, sunlight rocks, Zheng Chenggong... It appeared on the Costume and was reflected in the real scene, which attracted the applause of the audience.
"Looking at the Past and the Present - Gulangyu Intangible Cultural Heritage Nanyin Fashion Show" is the first activity of the gulangyu Island Management Committee's newly launched intangible cultural heritage nanyin exhibition "I enjoy the southern sound on Gulangyu Island". Next, every Sunday afternoon, Shuzhuang Garden will invite Nanyin professional groups to Gulangyu Island to exchange performances, and open to visitors entering the park for free.
