Zero leakage, intelligent construction, this cultural and artistic "giant ship" along the Pearl River to achieve "hand in hand"

Recently, standing on the banks of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center and the Guangdong Literature Museum "Three Museums in One" project undertaken by the South China Company of China Construction Third Bureau successfully completed two steel corridor upgrades, realizing the "holding hands" of the three museums, and a "giant ship" full of Lingnan cultural and artistic treasure boxes slowly emerged.

The branch library area refines the construction management of the façade curtain wall

Located in Liwan District, Guangzhou, the "Three Museums in One" project is a key project in Guangdong Province, designed by Mr. He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Its shape is like a steamship moored on the shore of the Pearl River, the project construction area of 144,500 square meters, the east-west length of the building is about 350 meters, the building height is 80 meters to 30 meters stacked upwards, implying that the giant ship full of Lingnan cultural and artistic treasure boxes is about to set sail.

The scenic trail on the side of the venue is arched in the shape of a bridge, which means that lingnan's past, present and future cultures are connected like a link, connecting Chinese culture with world culture.

When night falls, the lights in the "Giant Wheel" pavilion and the glass rooms on the facades of the three pavilions are lit up into glowing jewels, which reflect the night sky.

Behind the brilliant "jewelry" is the ingenuity of design. The unique "giant wheel" shape combines the lighting and viewing needs of the large indoor space to form a large-span inclined surface and multi-line surface integration façade shape. The façade is designed with a total of 11 large curtain wall systems, 22 subsystems, and the structure is complex.

In this regard, the project branch area refined the construction management deployment of the façade curtain wall. Through the BIM parametric modeling analysis, the in-and-out relationship is adjusted by the warpage value of the direct generation curve and the design of the special adapter, so as to achieve the overall torsion effect. At the same time, the dual control of measuring and discharging lines is installed in the mode of "absolute coordinates" and "relative distance of the grid", and the beam release is carried out by using the coordinate positioning of the bim model division point, and the cloud model of the three-dimensional scanning technology is compared and reviewed with the theoretical model, so as to control the installation accuracy of the façade.

After the completion of the project, the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center, and the Guangdong Literature Museum will be gathered together to integrate the functions of collection, research, exhibition, education, exchange, service, etc., to maximize the cultural functions of the three museums and form a complementary effect to meet people's diversified cultural needs.

Three aspects of the effort to achieve zero leakage

This "giant ship" is on the Pearl River, and how to achieve zero leakage is a difficult point in the construction of the project.

The edge of the project foundation pit is only 35 meters away from the Pearl River, and the groundwater level is between 2.5 meters and 3.0 meters above the existing ground, which is the same as the water level of the Pearl River, and the groundwater system is developed, which is a great challenge to the construction of basement leakage.

Lu Bin, director of project construction, said, "The total waterproof area of the project is nearly 40,200 square meters, and the embankment of the Pearl River is backfilled with medium coarse sand. The single-storey construction area of the project is 21,000 square meters, and it undertakes more functions. Once leakage occurs, the collection and cultural relics in the museum will be seriously damaged. ”

How to deal with this difficulty? Project manager Yin Can concluded that we must make full efforts in planning, materials and important waterproof parts.

Plan first to ensure that the first time is excellent. Before and after the project, four special planning of basement waterproof design was carried out to improve the accuracy of waterproof construction in key parts. High-quality materials are the basis of water leakage, the project to develop high-quality acceptance standards, the implementation of visual model guidance, for waterproofness, pressure resistance and service life, multi-layer waterproof membranes, waterproof coatings and other materials one by one inspection, repeated inspection, to ensure that the quality of materials passed. At the same time, focusing on strengthening and paying attention to important waterproof parts, the project combined with the three-dimensional technology and standard construction process card of the intelligent construction management platform to carry out key construction process submission and improve the operation level of workers. In the end, the foundation pit support node was completed 25 days ahead of schedule, and the basement project node was completed as scheduled.

Smart Construction Pushes Projects into the "Fast Lane"

In order to make the overall outline of the "giant wheel" appear, the project also carried out two long spans and overweight improvements.

There is a steel structure corridor between the art museum and the Museum of Literature of the project, with a suspension height of 29 meters, a maximum span of 168 meters for trusses, and a maximum span of 48 meters for suspension, weighing 1500 tons.

After 4 times of program demonstration and review, 45 days of deepening the design, and finally selected the "over-limit structure large-span arch truss layered and successive overall lifting technology", and lifted the five-story and three-story steel structure corridors in two times. At the same time, the finite element node analysis and BIM simulation and analysis of the stress change of the truss lifting node in the construction process are used to ensure the lifting of the double-deck corridor of the project and reduce the safety risk of high-altitude work.

In the end, this heavyweight over-limit large-span double-storey corridor lifting project was completed within 70 days, realizing the connection of the three "main cabins".

In fact, the "three museums in one" project also rides on the east wind of "smart construction".

In December last year, the project "Smart Construction Management Platform" was selected as one of the first batch of typical cases of intelligent construction new technology, new product innovation services of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

During the construction of the project, the self-developed intelligent construction management platform (including the IoT equipment management platform and the smart site information management platform) will be comprehensively applied to the whole process of design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance. The application of cutting-edge technologies such as UAV cruise, virtual model, remote control, access control and epidemic prevention has also achieved cost reduction and quality improvement.

Riding on this "smart construction" east wind, project construction is driving into the "fast lane".

On December 20, 2021, with the completion of the pouring of the last concrete on the top floor of the Museum of Literature, it marked the smooth capping of the main structure of the two museums of the three museums in one project, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum and the Museum of Literature. At present, the construction of the main structure of the museum is being stepped up, and the capping of the main structure is expected to be completed in March 2022.
