The pen is strong and strong, the neat and delicate small letters, the cursive writing of the pen walking the dragon and the snake... Dozens of works in this exhibition with different brushwork and characteristics are written by seven authors, all of whom are "alumni who have made ink on campus".

The curator of this exhibition, Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance, a teacher of the School of Humanities and Arts, introduced that these participating authors are all enrolled in Shanghai Lixin College of Accounting and Finance, but they are all non-art majors. On campus, under the guidance of calligraphy teacher Le Feng, they entered the hall of calligraphy art and have since regarded calligraphy as a lifelong love. After graduating from undergraduate, some of them were admitted to master's degrees in calligraphy from East China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University and other universities, and continued to improve their pen strength; some worked in the financial industry, but still insisted on learning painting in Linchi, and "worked overtime" in order to write satisfactory works to participate in this exhibition.

Zhou Wenhan, born in 1986, is one of the "oldest" authors in this exhibition. In 2008, he graduated from the then Shanghai Institute of Finance with a degree in business English, and because he fell in love with calligraphy in college, he hoped to do related work. After several efforts, he was admitted to Shanghai Normal University in 2012 with a master's degree in calligraphy. "After 14 years away from school, I am very happy to be back today to 'hand in my homework'." In the face of Mr. Le, Zhou Wenhan is still as humble as when he was studying, even though he is now a calligraphy teacher for more than 100 students.

"I'm graduating next year, and no matter what I do in the future, I'll continue to practice calligraphy." Kang Mengqi, a student of the Class of 2022 majoring in Chinese Language and Literature, is now the backbone of the school's student calligraphy association, watching the exhibition with her brothers and sisters, exchanging experiences in practicing calligraphy, and she looks forward to the "future self" can also have the opportunity to return to her alma mater to participate in the exhibition.

Generations of students have fallen in love with calligraphy on campus, and after graduation, they still work hard and continue to write a paragraph of "ink edge", which is exactly the result of Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance as a non-art institution in promoting art education. "Freshmen like this excellent traditional Chinese art because of their calligraphy electives, and their sophomore and junior year often soak in the calligraphy classroom dedicated to the Student Calligraphy Association to learn calligraphy and painting." According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the school has listed calligraphy appreciation as one of the eight art elective courses, with nearly 1,000 students taking it in the 2021 academic year. On the basis of popularization, the Student Calligraphy Association recruits new members every year, with more than 100 people signing up in the 2021 school year alone. Every Wednesday afternoon, the members of the Student Calligraphy Association always pack the calligraphy association activity classrooms on the Pudong campus and Songjiang campus. "Teachers and students communicate and learn together, so that students can stick to their passions more, and their initiative in learning is stronger than when they were young." Teacher Gou Said that successive school leaders attach great importance to and support calligraphy education, creating a good environment for the dissemination and learning of calligraphy art, and the calligraphy and painting exhibition hall in the Wenbo Building, as a display base for the school's calligraphy characteristics, will hold various calligraphy exhibitions held by teachers, students, retired faculty members and alumni every year, attracting a large number of calligraphy enthusiasts to visit and exchange.

"The book 'Ink Edge', published by Shanghai Bookstore Publishing House and foreworded by Professor Xie Chao, secretary of the school party committee, will focus on the achievements of calligraphy education in our school for more than 30 years." Chen Songli, deputy secretary of the party general branch and vice president of the School of Humanities and Arts of the university, introduced that the only calligraphy teaching base named by the Shanghai Education Association is Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance, and the series of activities of "popularization and improvement of calligraphy art, teaching and educating people to lead culture" has won the first prize of the Ministry of Education's college campus culture construction. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the school will vigorously carry out chinese excellent traditional culture education. The Traditional Culture and Art Research and Communication Center of the University will strive to build a "four-in-one" education model of the school, teachers, alumni and clubs, joint interaction and multi-dimensional coordination, so as to educate people with beauty and culture.
